I WISH

I WiSH was a Japanese pop group consisting of two members, Ai Kawashima and nao. Ai was responsible for the vocals and occasionally plays the piano also with nao on the keyboard or piano. Their most notable track is "Asu e no Tobira" and was in the Oricon rankings for over a year. While walking around Shibuya, Nao came across Ai singing on the street with just a handheld microphone and a boombox. He was captivated by her overwhelmingly clear voice and approached her, which was how the two first met. After that, they brought each other's songs and produced a demo tape. Two months after forming, they received offers for their debut from over 50 companies. Amidst fierce competition, the company president personally took the lead in acquiring the band, and they signed with SME Records. Furthermore, due to ai's clear singing voice and overwhelming musical talent, "Tomorrow's Door" was chosen as the theme song for Fuji TV's "Ainori" (from October 2002). Previous artists who have performed theme songs for this program include Yuzu, Every Little Thing, and GLAY, all of which have been mega-hits. In February 2003, I WiSH made a stunning debut on the major scene with "Door to Tomorrow." Former Members: Ai Kawashima nao
