Birthplace: Niihama City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan Hometown: Osaka Prefecture, Japan Likes: Yakifu, Niihama City, Traveling Dislikes: Natto Artist Profile (avex) | Twitter | YouTube | Instagram Introduction: Miyuu is a Japanese singer-songwriter signed under record label avex trax. She has a smoky and gentle singing voice and the combination of her Kyoto and Western-style music has attracted the attention of not only the Japanese, but also people from overseas. She is currently active as a musician through live performances in Osaka and Tokyo, while still following her roots and doing music videos on her YouTube channel. Biography: She started her career doing covers of songs and uploading them to her YouTube channel which was initially created on August 18, 2015. The covers she did included songs like "Maps", "Sugar" and "Payphone" by the Maroon 5 and "Just The Way You Are", "When I Was Your Man" and "Count On Me", by Bruno Mars. The channel was re-branded on February 6, 2016, as a result of her success in the indie music industry, and shortly after the channel was established she participated in the "YouTuber Women's Audition" sponsored by record label avex and company UUUM. She won the grand prize, and was selected to be the winner, which in return made her sign a contract with the record label avex management. In addition to doing these covers, she would make them special by recording them like a "travel blog" of sorts in front of shrines and temples in Kyoto, greeting and talking to people while recording footage for her videos, which can be seen in the first upload of the cover "Sugar" by Maroon 5. She has also stated that she enjoys traveling, which explains the format of her cover videos, and she hopes to become a goodwill and tourism ambassador in her favorite place, Niihama City in the Ehime Prefecture, specifically her birthplace. Miyuu released her first digital single titled "Southern Waves" on September 7, 2016, then she made her indie debut with the indie album EP "Where we'll be" on December 21, 2016. She released her second digital single titled "into you" on August 9, 2017. She made a major debut in the anime industry with her performance of the song "Exceed", which was used as the fourth ending to the anime Fairy Tail (2018). She would later do an inserted song performance in the anime revisions. (Source: ja.wikipedia.org | Miyuu's Official YouTube Channel)
